Project Description

The Common Roots Urban Farm sites have long be a hub in their respective communities and have always played a role in increasing access to skills, food, opportunities, your neighbours and resources. With growing pressures on the farm due to increased food insecurity, increasing homelessness rates, poverty and a whole range of other challenges our communities are facing in HRM, CRUF plays an important role in helping to bridge community members to information and resources.

What started as an idea for a community billboard turned into a central space with designated zones for sharing resources, tools, information, produce and more. The structure makes use of materials available on the farm and offers shelter and seating to farmers and passers by. The Resource Hub was designed + built with the CRUF community on add to their growing Bihi farm site.
