The Jordan National Urban Policy (JNUP) is a collaborative effort with UN-Habitat Jordan Office and the Ministry of Local Administration aimed at promoting resilience, sustainability, accessibility, and prosperity for all urban residents of Jordan. The policy is based on guiding principles and six thematic areas of action with associated initiatives. The JNUP takes a proactive approach to urbanization, emphasizing the importance of connectivity, services, and infrastructure. Implementation involves establishing a platform to align plans, infrastructure, and programs with the JNUP, as well as community-based projects and the establishment of a National Urban Commission to oversee ongoing implementation.
