OSO teamed up with Nourish NS to design and build a mobile programming hub to support garden activities, create garden infrastructure, develop food skills, and encourage land stewardship practices across the province. Nourish NS is a non-profit organisation that aims to inspire and equip young people in Nova Scotia to learn about food and transform the food systems around them.

The first step was engaging youth to hear their ideas and interests. Next, we developed a modular design that is adaptable to a variety of programs, spaces, and changing needs.

Custom millwork ensures that equipment is integrated + accessible, and makes use of every nook and cranny in the trailer. We chose lightweight, natural, and food-safe materials throughout. The OSO build team installed a solar power system including a fully solar fridge so that the trailer is fully functional off-grid in remote areas.
